Since time immemorial, humankind has been making continuous efforts to make life meaningful, purposeful and virtuous. In the early stages of human evolution, food, shelter and clothing were the basic necessities, but gradually human beings realized that these alone could not lead to a progressive and fulfilling life. The quest for knowledge began, and education became an essential part of human development. With every discovery and every new learning, humanity moved forward on an endless journey of knowledge, wisdom and skill. The journey of education is, in essence, a journey towards the development of a complete personality. Education is not merely the acquisition of information; it is the formation of character, enrichment of knowledge and refinement of the soul. Great civilizations are not created merely through buildings, machines and material resources; they are built by individuals who possess character, values and a sense of responsibility. True education enables a person to be physically fit, mentally alert, morally upright, culturally rooted, socially responsible and spiritually aware.
